This guide should be used by trainers and consultants to prepare teachers and technicians for accreditation to match the DATA H&S scheme and BS 4163:2000. Training syllabuses used by different institutions or consultant trainers ought to refer to this document to achieve standardisation across the various material areas in design and technology. Teachers or departments should have their own copy to assist them for accreditation in H&S and to raise standards generally.
