The downloadable EXECL spreadsheet gives percentages of students gaining a high grade at GCSE in the subjects with over 100,000 entries. Statistics are include for the years 1996 to 2000. The figures for 2000 include separate averages for boys and girls. The averages shown are for all maintained secondary schools. A comparative chart is included showing the growth in students achieving high grades in D&T compared to the core subjects and the average for all subjects. The data is drawn from the National Summary Report for secondary schools (PANDA Annex) published by Ofsted in December 2000.
