Lesson Context
6 Week D and M project at the start of KY 4. Mixed ability group all boys.
Resources Needed
All components from Rapid Electronics.
Vacuum forming facilities.
Project Brief
Alarm system.
Design and Manufacture
Pupils will investigate input devices. Thermister, LDR and moisture prodes. The process will be a darlington pair for all pupils. The output will be a choice of LEDs and, or buzzers.
The housing will be a vacuumed formed with all pupils making their own mould.
Expected Outcomes
Pupils will make a PCB for an alarm circuit which will be housed in a vacuum formed container.
