Project Brief
Design and Make a CD Cover using ICT and combining print making methods and literacy - poem
Design and Manufacture
1.Examine thumbprints using digital microscope/magnifying glasses, draw, add colour with various materials & monotone
2.Design 3D version building up using layers of card, looking at contour maps
3. Examine bridget Riley's optical illusions, discuss write a poem in response to her designs, this will form song titles for back cover
4.Investigate other CD cover layouts, eg's of text/image
5.Use ICT to create templates, text boxes, use text direction to design text and format for cover. print onto acetate
6. Pressprint thumbprint for cover to place under acetate, explore mark making before printing onto collaged prepared papers
Expected Outcomes
All will produce a CD Cover as a format for exploring text/image composition.
Classroom Organisation
Quite a lot of whole class teaching. some using ICT room while others design on paper prior to using ICT.
Printing in 1 sessions, with papers prepared already. Prepare tables with ink, trays, rollers, drying rack.
Additional Information
Label all papers to print with name on reverse before printing. Have extra paper to experiment on such as graph paper, newspaper.
Stack ink trays up if wanting to use at later stage.
Draw CD template to plan.
Use photocopier to experiment with size/position of text
