Lesson Context
As part of a CADCAM unit of work students use a design which is partly prepared by the teacher and then are taught to repair the mistakes, modify and substantially complete the design.

Resources Needed
Laser Cutter – This school uses a 25watt – ‘Technology Supplies’ machine.
Corel Draw software

Project Brief
To design and make a pencil and post-it-note holder in light gathering acrylic

Design and Manufacture
The incomplete design prepared by the teacher is available on a shared file on the schools computer system. In the D&T departments ICT suite students are then shown how to repair, complete the designs and prepare them for manufacture from a restricted size sheet of material. The project is planned to cut 8 students projects from one sheet of acrylic.
