Description
Using CAD/CAM to produce a decorative inlay for a pull down front on a piece of furniture.
Hardwood veneers pre-glued onto 3mm M.D.F. blanks which are then mounted onto Roland CAMM2.The student designed a tessallating pattern using Design Tools which we then cut out of the blanks, some parts beech veneer others iroko. The 3mm base added greater body to the pieces enabling them to be handled quite roughly if necessary. All pieces were assembled and glued to another 3mm backing board in the desired arrangement.
